Our Why

My husband, Daniel, and I started dating in 2013. One of the things that brought us together was our mutual desire to support children in foster care. When we moved to Charlotte in 2017, we attended a Foster Village Charlotte informational meeting and learned that there are close to 600 kids in the foster care system just in our area.  We were heartbroken. We know that having a strong, vibrant, healthy foster care system is crucial for these children, their parents, and our community. I joined the Foster Village Charlotte board in 2023 and I am continually blown away by the amazing work this organization is doing to bring families together.

Foster Village Charlotte

When a family decides to foster a child, it can be scary and overwhelming. Understandably, almost half of foster parents choose to not accept another placement, citing lack of support as a strong contributing factor. Foster Village Charlotte plays a critical role in supporting and maintaining a family’s ability to foster a child. They show up in real, tangible ways, so the families feel seen, understood, and supported. They provide resources such as welcome packs, funded trainings, support groups, and classes to help ensure a healthy transition for children in crisis. This is why we are proud to support Foster Village Charlotte and their mission.

Safety Pin House

I knew I could have a tangible, meaningful, and positive impact through the beauty of my artful designs. When you purchase any items from our House Collection, we donate 100% of the purchase price to Foster Village Charlotte.  Your purchase supports the work of Foster Village Charlotte, which ultimately impacts those who need it the most. My hope is the Safety Pin House serves as a reminder that when we all come together, children can have a safe place to call home.
